Congratulations Tara and Caitlin!!

These two met at work, when Caitlin fell in love with Tara’s sweet dance moves and great personality. Their first official date was at Founder’s Brewing in Grand Rapids.

For the proposal, Caitlin was sneaky and invited Tara’s best friends to The Detroit Zoo during the holidays, making it look like it was their idea. Caitlin found the perfect spot in a somewhat secluded part of the zoo in front of purple Christmas lights (Tara’s favorite color), and Caitlin (in her very awkward manner) got down on one knee and proposed, not knowing that Tara also had an engagement ring waiting for her at home!

Their shared interests include Batman, craft beer, Harry Potter, and exploring new things together.

My favorite parts of their wedding day:
—Tara’s animated facial expressions- a photographer’s dream!
—They were so easy to shoot because they were laughing and interacting with each other the whole time!!
—We snuck off to the winery to get some really great shots and give them some alone time
—Tara’s veil. It glowed the whole sunny day!
—I love the Calcutt family! I got to see Erin (Caitlin’s sister) and Bryan, who I photographed over 4 yrs ago! I was so honored to continue to document new adventures in the Calcutt family.

—A huge thank you to Maria Lewis Photography for her talent, skill, fun personality, and knowledge of what is needed without me even saying anything. I absolutely adore working with her!

Tara and Caitlin are so fun and I loved this oh so much! Please enjoy the preview:

Spring Grove Park and Sunnybrook Country Club- Kristyn and Adam

Congrats to KRISTYN AND ADAM! These two met trhough a mutual friend while working at Meijer. On their first date, Adam went over to Kristyn's and made her favorite meal, shrimp scampi, but left the shells on which made them both laugh. They have been laughing together for five and a half years.
Adam proposed on their anniversary at his sister's house. He handmade a T-shirt for his nephew to wear, saying "Will you be my aunt?" When Kristyn turned around, Adam was on his knee.

My favorite part of their day was when the sun made the perfect appearance at the perfect spot for their ceremony. It felt like the sun was washing them in warmth and good wishes. It looked amazing, sun flare streaming as they were at the altar.

I'm so happy for these two! Best wishes for your new adventures! Go Packers! Enjoy your preview:

Cobblestone Farm Wedding - Bianka and Beth

Ann Arbor, MI

Congratulations to Bianka and Beth! What fun ladies! So laid-back and cool. They've actually been together for 20 years, so the declaration of their commitment and love for each other has already been there for two decades. They wanted to wait for the legalization in Michigan to legitimately tie the knot.

These two met through work at a residential treatment center for children. Bianka said that she found herself looking forward to her shifts with Beth because of her sincerity, humor, and overall desire to help make things a little better for the children. Bagels turned into drinks, and twenty years later they are getting married!

Well, we got rained out at the farm. Rain is good luck for weddings, though. It never broke anybody's spirit. I have to say, the ceremony was truly beautiful. They spoke of how, in a relationship, when you help make each other better people, you end up making the world a better place too. There was a period when they stopped the ceremony and everyone gave a sign of peace to each other. I, myself, am used to this in church, but I thought what a great breath to take right then. People were hugging and happy. This ceremony had a deeper meaning, as these two ladies act on their true deeper meanings to give to the world. Yes, I cried again.

Another favorite part for me was sitting at the "head table" with the ladies and their family! Wow! I'm never at the VIP table, so that was so nice! And, of course, Zingerman's food is THE best wedding food. Hand's down. It was a great time.

Also!! I would love to point out that they got their flowers from Trader Joe's!! I commented on them, because I loved them so much and they looked so professional! Just a tip for my future brides out there. ;)

I am honored that I got to document their story. Thank you, Bianka and Beth. Enjoy the preview:
