MADCAP COFFEE DATE-Anniversary

Grand Rapids, MI
Madcap Coffee and Millenium Park

Happy Anniversary Hahyoon and Andrew! A year ago today, I was retouching their wedding photos! I was so excited to hear that they would be visiting from California and wanted a session at Madcap. It's always a good time with these guys. I remember the engagement session we did- we kept running into fun surprises and laughed a lot. Their engagement session and their wedding at the Grand Rapids Art Museum are on the top of my list of favorites.

You can check out their engagement "bus stop" session, taken in Gaslight Village, here:

I posted about how I always get that song stuck in my head when I look at these images, which is very fitting:

Bus stop, wet day, she's there, I say
Please share my umbrella
Bus stop, bus goes, she stays, love grows
Under my umbrella

All that summer we enjoyed it
Wind and rain and shine
That umbrella, we employed it
By August, she was mine

Every mornin' I would see her waiting at the stop
Sometimes she'd shopped and she would show me what she bought
All the people stared as if we were both quite insane
Someday my name and hers are going to be the same

That's the way the whole thing started
Silly but it's true
Thinkin' of a sweet romance
Beginning in a queue

Came the sun the ice was melting
No more sheltering now
Nice to think that that umbrella
Led me to a vow

Every mornin' I would see her waiting at the stop
Sometimes she'd shopped and she would show me what she bought
All the people stared as if we were both quite insane
Someday my name and hers are going to be the same
 Hollies -

So, after this date-night-anniversary-session, they were heading off to Chicago. I asked them what they were excited about most. "Food". "We basically arrange our travels around food, and whatever else happens happens." Ha!! I love these guys. And they weren't kidding. Her Instagram feed was loaded with amazing dishes that made me extremely jealous. I'm hungry.

It was so great to catch up and see these guys again. I love documenting families for life! Maybe next year too??? Enjoy the sample preview:
