As you may remember, I ran a "Spread the Love" contest a while back, where someone had to nominate an angel in our midst, and both those families won free Day in the Life sesisons with me. I could not think of a better angel than the winner, Kourtney Finnerty.

This amazing woman, full-time nurse practitioner, wife, and mama to three boys, also splits her time and resources between Jackson County DHHS, helping with The Angel Tree Foster Care Christmas Drive and The Foster Closet, in Jackson.
THE DHHS SHARED AT HER RECENT MEETING THAT THERE ARE OVER 600 KIDS IN JACKSON COUNTY IN NEED AND IT'S NOT EVEN DECEMBER, SO NAMES ARE STILL COMING IN. THEY SHARED THAT 52% OF KIDS IN THE COUNTY ARE AT OR BELOW THE POVERTY LEVEL.
The Foster Closet holds events that are open to all people who have a foster license, are fostering, have adopted and are in need of items (clothes, cribs, sports equipment, outerwear, you name it). They function on donations completely, NEW OR USED items!! (Clean out your house and do some good at the same time!). The closet is available by appointment at anytime, such as getting a new kid placed in your home on a Sunday afternoon, with no belongings to start school the next day; You can go to the foster closet and get clothes, shoes, backpack, etc.
She is currently collecting items from the wishlist to support both of those causes. Yes, collecting AT HER HOUSE- DURING CHRISTMAS Y’ALL!! She hosts volunteers to get all of this ready. This lady is an angel, for sure.
I urge you to give to the Michigan littles this Christmas who really need your help. Let's continue this chain and "Spread the Love" !
