Posh Petals, Grand Rapids

I had the pleasure of hanging out and chatting about weddings with Elyse and Kayla, from Posh Petals, the other day. What a fun place that is to work! They even have bunnies!

As an entrepreneur, I am always looking to promote other women entrepreneurs and utilize their skill and talent in my business as well as personal life. "Grow the Good"! Elizabeth Schenk, the owner, started this floral business in her basement and has taken this company to a well-known household name in this area, with a team of fun employees. That is amazing. Their adorable shop is located at 806 Bridge St NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504.

So, today I am giving a shout out to Posh Petals, in Grand Rapids, for your floral needs, but also your PLANNING needs. Yep, Elyse is one of the event planners and she is wonderful. They also just hired on another planner as well. You can choose from a variety of options, including a "day of" option, where they will help coordinate and be there with you on the big day.

Also, Posh Petals does amazing things for corporate events as well. Did you know that they will keep track of your employees' work anniversaries and send flowers annually for you? Yeah. Amazing, right?!

When asked the deeper meaning behind their work, Elyse and Kayla were smiling to respond, "It's the joy that it brings people. You see their mood lift instantly. They even get emotional. We make a direct impact in a small way."

Yes, they do. Here are some samples of weddings that I have worked with Posh Petals. If you would like to see the full weddings, please check out these links:

EGYPT VALLEY Country Club and MCKAY TOWER-Maryann and Joe

Egypt Valley Country Club, Ada MI
McKay Tower, Grand Rapids, MI

Congratulations to Maryann and Joe!! What a glamorous, elegant, and happy celebration of this couple's love and dedication to each other.  I loved this day. There was an abundance of happy friends and family, as well as the silly and goofy couple.

The two met at school, Grand Valley. Seven years later, Joe proposed to Maryann while on a weekend trip in Chicago in front of The Bean.

Just in case you missed their engagement session that we shot in the frigid winter, you can view it here:

I knew from that session that this couple was going to be loads of fun on their wedding day, but also that they would keep the fun and laughter going throughout the years together. I can't even narrow down my favorite part of their wedding day, there were so many special incidents. Something different that everyone enjoyed, was when the best man and groomsman stole Joe's old journals from his old room. As they were reading a few embarrassing entries, the entire venue roared with laughter. Eventually, they got to some entries about Maryann. Sweet thoughts for a truly sweet couple. But, seriously... hilarious. I think that should become a tradition in receptions... Another favorite part of mine was all the fabulous dancing- on the bus, off the bus, on the way to the bus... For their first dance, Joe and Maryann twirled about in a fancy number that I couldn't really edit down! I'm showing a lot of dancing shots here. They took up all my space for this post. Ha!

Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Harre, for choosing me to capture your big day. I am honored. Here is your preview...

Special thanks to Portraits by Mandy, for the awesome second shooting! I had so much fun with you, and your talent abounds.

CityFlatsHotel-Sarah and Greg

Congratulations to Greg and Sarah!! What a beautiful celebration for these two!

The couple met, back in the day, working at TGI Fridays. Sarah was wooed by Greg's tacky excuses to keep talking to her and hanging around her hostess stand. They have been together for five and a half years. Greg proposed on a bitterly cold December night. After strolling through downtown, checking out the new fudge shop that just opened, he brought Sarah to the top of the hill by the skating rink and Christmas trees at Rosa Parks Circle. He bent down on one knee and had a speech prepared just for her.

The entire wedding day was absolutely stunning. The shots of Greg waiting for Sarah down the aisle are priceless. They were only possible because City Flats allowed me to go anywhere I wished during the ceremony! So nice!! I was so happy that the rain held off for us and we could stroll through downtown and go back to the place where Greg proposed to get some beautiful shots around Rosa Parks Circle. I love the images around the GRAM. We ran into my new friend playing the sax! It was perfect! I met him when I was scouting weeks earlier for Sarah and Greg's big day. Nothing like taking a stroll downtown with sax music playing on your wedding day... Back at the venue, the lighting was really fun to play with all through the dancing. Again, so many favorites and I couldn't post them all. I tried. There is a limit on this thing...

Please enjoy the preview:
